Get to know the ladies
Six very different personalities, one happy backyard coop. Our flock is made up of four Easter Eggers and two Speckled Cochins, each with their own quirky character. Some are shy and skittish, others strut around like they own the place — but they are all treated like family.
The star layers of our flock. Easter Eggers are a fun mixed breed known for laying gorgeous blue and green eggs. Ours lay blue, sage green, and blush pink eggs — a different surprise with each batch.
Big, fluffy, and absolutely beautiful — the Cochins are the gentle giants of the coop. With their feathered feet and calm temperament, they add warmth and personality to our flock, and lay lovely light brown eggs.
Our hens are fed a premium diet of nutritious chicken feed from Grubly Farms, supplemented with dried grubs, kitchen scraps, and whatever they forage from the yard — insects, grass, seeds, and more.
The flock has free access to our backyard and a cozy, clean coop. They roam, scratch, dustbathe, and sunbathe every single day. No cages, no crowding — just six happy hens living their best lives.
Meet the Chicken Tender
I'm thirteen years old and a seventh grader at Woodward Academy here in Atlanta. I've had a flock of feathered friends for as long as I can remember — and I love every single one of them.
What amazes me most is how different their personalities are, even though they all grew up together. Some are skittish and easily startled, others are bold and social. Watching them has taught me so much about animals, patience, and the natural world.
I started Sunnyside Up because I wanted to share nature's beauty with my neighbors. Fresh eggs from happy, healthy hens are something truly special — and I think everyone deserves to experience them. I hope our eggs bring a little joy to your mornings too! 🌅
